Day 7 Up, down and all Around

Well then. I am not sure my husband or I were prepared for the roller coaster of emotions we'd go through this first week of our detox/cleanse with the Ultimate Reset. Let's just say this weekend involved much yelling and crying. I think we are over the major hump now (I swear, we better be, or this whole thing is getting sent back)!

We've learned we like baked Tempeh. Ya, it's pretty interesting stuff! Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempeh . And you can get it for $1.99 at Trader Joe's! Score!

I don't know what this week is going to hold. I am quite worried with this all vegan menu that is planned for us, but we made it 7 days! Only 14 more to go...sigh....

  1. You can do this! You have the drive/knowledge and strength to get it done and not quit. Keep going cause I so want to see your results. The first week is always the hardest no matter what you are doing. :)

  2. Hi Sonja! I'm a fellow coach of Neva's and I'm here to help!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!! I just finished the UR 2 months ago and the pain and frustration of the first week is still very fresh in my brain. My husband and I went from eating out pretty much EVERY night to doing the Reset (HE only ate the dinners with me, he did not want to do the full program). It was TOTALLY overwhelming - especially since I never grocery shopped or cooked in the first place. By the third day, I was in tears and throwing things around in the kitchen. The next day I was fine.
Things you MUST make sure you're doing (or not doing):
    - DRINK DRINK DRINK WATER WATER WATER. They "suggest" at least 1/2 your body weight in oz, but in the support group they push for you to drink a gallon a day. I drank one gallon of distilled water with 1/2 teaspoon of Mineralize (which is just Himalayan sea salt) EVERY SINGLE DAY for the full 21 days. Water will not only help FLUSH/cleanse, but it will help curb your hunger pains and prevent you from getting headaches.
    - DON'T look at the UR as a weight loss program. While the majority of people DO lose weight, some lose more than others and it's not meant to be a weight loss program... they stress this in the support group. I DID purchase it for weight loss, but learned quickly that if you focus on the weight, you can easily get discouraged and fall off the program. I lost 14 pounds in 21 days. Some days I wouldn't lose anything, some days I would lose 2 pounds.
    - Did I mention water? Drink lots and lots of it.
    - Drink caffeine free/calorie free herbal tea in between meals if you need to feel like you're having a "treat."
    - Make sure your husband is consuming the "male portions" if he is really hungry and cannot make the hunger pains go away with water.
    - Don't cheat... you will regret it and that will cause stress that can cause problems and more cheating.
    - Join the support groups on FB if you haven't already. There is one for each Phase and one for Post Reset. I am still involved in the Post Reset group and it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HELPFUL. I seriously couldn't have made it through the 21 days without the support in the groups.

Since I finished the Reset, I have been doing Les Mills Combat, drinking my Shakeology and eating "clean" and healthy - for the most part. I have not gained a single pound back. I don't crave the nasty foods I used to. I see food in a different way - it's fuel for my body instead of just something that tastes good. It has CHANGED MY LIFE and I hope it changes yours too!!
